And a car company would rather lose billions in sales than transfer production of a part to one of their already existing facilities in the US? It DOES NOT COST BILLIONS to do that! But it DID cost them billions when they initially opened up new plants in Mexico in the past, and they eagerly spent that money in order to save money.
So how is it any different now when it won't cost them nearly as much to do so as it did then?
Use your head for just a second here.
If you were the CEO of Ford, and all you had to do was to move the production of a dozen parts back into the US to have an huge price advantage for your cars over GM, Toyota, Kia, and others, are you saying you wouldn't do it?
why should they spend any money?? the tariffs will be paid by american car buyers.
